It took me a long time before I found out how to change the Windows colours to answer my needs: for imaging I need to look at the screen but the bright light-grey borders destroys my night vision.
And once I knew how to change it, it was easy (it always is like that).
Click the image to taste a Windows panel in night-vision mode.

In Windows go to Settings and select Display.
Click the middle tab and do what is shown in the following picture (one picture says more than 1000 words)

When you are satisfied with you night-vision settings, save them as ... Night-Vision for easy recall when needed. Hope it helps you!
Note: As K3CCDTools 2 has the Option 'Night Vision' the above procedure has become more or less obsolete.
